The AMD 780G chipset is a Socket AM2+ chipset introduced in 2008 as part of the AMD Spider platform. It is fabricated on a 55 nm process and has a thermal design power (TDP) of 11 W. The chipset supports PCIe 2.0 with 16 lanes and provides six SATA III ports and twelve USB 2.0 ports. Memory support includes up to 16 GB of DDR2-1066 in dual-channel configuration, without ECC support. The 780G succeeded the AMD 690G and was succeeded by the AMD 785G.
