The Intel 430LX, codenamed Mercury, is a desktop chipset released in March 1993 for Socket 5 Pentium processors. It supports FPM memory with a maximum capacity of 0.192 GB and does not support ECC memory. The chipset features PCIe version 2.0. It uses either the SIO southbridge for ISA support or the PCEB/ESC combination for EISA support. As the first Pentium chipset, it laid the foundation for subsequent Intel chipsets.
