Intel 450GX

The Intel 450GX is a chipset released in November 1995 for Socket 8 processors, supporting the Pentium Pro, Pentium II, and Pentium III platforms. It features SMP support for up to four processors, making it suitable for multi-processor server and workstation configurations. The chipset supports FPM memory with a maximum capacity of 8 GB and includes ECC memory support for error correction. It uses a South Bridge configuration with SIO.A for ISA and PCEB/ESC for EISA buses. Notably, it does not support AGP and relies on PCIe version 2.0 for expansion. The 450GX is typically paired with Intel Pentium Pro or later processors in the same socket.
