The chipset consists of multiple components: the 82451KX, 82452KX, 82453KX, and 82454KX. It supports symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) and PCI 2.0, but does not support AGP. Memory support is limited to FPM (Fast Page Mode) DRAM, with a maximum capacity of 1 GB and ECC support. The south bridge options include SIO, SIO.A, and PIIX for ISA, or PCEB/ESC for EISA. The 450KX was used in high-end workstations and servers of the time.
