Intel 82230

The Intel 82230 is a chipset for Comet Lake processors, released in 2020 for LGA 1200 motherboards.

The Intel 82230 is a chipset designed for Intel's Comet Lake platform, released on April 30, 2020. It uses the LGA 1200 socket and is built on a 14 nm process with a TDP of 6 W. The chipset supports DDR4 memory up to 128 GB across two channels, but does not support ECC memory. It provides four SATA III ports, ten USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, and four USB 2.0 ports. PCIe connectivity is version 3.0 with six chipset lanes, and DMI 3.0 links the chipset to the CPU. Integrated Ethernet is handled by the Intel I219-V controller. The chipset supports Intel Rapid Storage Technology but does not allow CPU or memory overclocking. It is compatible with ATX, Micro-ATX, and Mini-ITX form factors. The 82230 succeeded the H310 and was itself succeeded by the H510.
