The Intel 82X38 is a chipset designed for Intel Core 2 processors on the LGA775 socket. It was released in September 2007 and discontinued in September 2009. Manufactured on a 90 nm process, it supports DDR3 memory up to 1333 MHz and DDR2 up to 1066 MHz, with a maximum capacity of 8 GB and ECC support. The chipset provides 32 PCIe 2.0 lanes, four SATA III ports, four USB 2.0 ports, and dual Gigabit Ethernet. It includes Intel Rapid Storage Technology and is used in custom and rack form factors, notably the Intel Server Board X38ML, which features a 1333 MHz front-side bus, integrated IPMI 2.0, four DDR2 DIMM slots, four SATA ports, and a 6” x 13” form factor.
