The Intel Pentium 4 is a line of single-core CPUs introduced on November 20, 2000, succeeding the Pentium III. It was manufactured on process nodes ranging from 180 nm to 65 nm and supported Socket 423, Socket 478, and LGA 775. The Pentium 4 had a TDP as low as 6 W and featured PCIe 3.0 with 10 lanes. It supported up to 16 GB of LPDDR3-1866 or DDR3L-1600 memory across two channels, without ECC support. The Pentium 4 was used in desktop, mobile, and server systems. It was discontinued on August 8, 2008, and succeeded by the Pentium D and Intel Core 2.
