The Intel Z490 is a chipset designed for desktop platforms using the LGA 1200 socket, released in the second quarter of 2020. It has a TDP of 6 W and features 24 PCIe 3.0 lanes from the chipset, with a DMI 3.0 interface to the CPU. The chipset supports DDR4 memory but not ECC memory. It includes six SATA III ports, six USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, ten USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, and fourteen USB 2.0 ports. Integrated Ethernet is provided via an integrated MAC, and it supports Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201. The Z490 enables CPU and memory overclocking (XMP/EXPO) and includes Intel Rapid Storage Technology. It is used with Intel Core processors of the 10th generation (Comet Lake) and has been discontinued.
