SB700

The SB700 is a southbridge chipset from AMD, introduced in January 2008. It is part of the 700 series chipset family and is typically paired with AMD's RS780 or RS790 northbridges. The chipset is housed in a 548-pin FC-BGA package and is manufactured on a 130 nm process node, with a thermal design power (TDP) of 4.5 W. It provides connectivity for up to six SATA III ports and twelve USB 2.0 ports. The SB700 also supports DASH 1.0 (Desktop and mobile Architecture for System Hardware), a management technology for remote system administration. It was commonly used in motherboards for AMD Phenom and Athlon processors.
