The Asus ROG Maximus X Formula is a high-end ATX motherboard based on the Intel Z370 chipset, supporting LGA 1151 socket for 8th Gen Intel Core processors. It features four DDR4 memory slots with dual-channel architecture, supporting up to 64 GB of RAM. Expansion includes two PCIe 3.0 x16 SafeSlots (CPU), one PCIe 3.0 x16 slot (PCH), and three PCIe 3.0 x1 slots (PCH). Storage options include two M.2 slots and six SATA ports. Rear connectivity provides six USB 3.1 Gen 1 and six USB 2.0 ports. Networking is handled by an Intel I219-V Gb LAN controller and 802.11ac Wi-Fi. Audio is powered by the SupremeFX S1220 CODEC.
