The Asus ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC) is a motherboard released in 2017, based on the Intel Z370 chipset. It features an LGA 1151 socket and supports up to 64 GB of DDR4 memory across four slots with dual-channel architecture. The board comes in an ATX form factor and includes two PCIe 3.0 x16 slots, three PCIe 3.0 x1 slots, and one additional PCIe 3.0 x16 slot from the PCH. Storage options include two M.2 slots and six SATA ports. Rear I/O provides USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A and Type-C ports. Networking is handled by an Intel I219-V Gb LAN controller and integrated 802.11ac Wi-Fi. Audio is powered by a SupremeFX S1220 CODEC. It is the successor to the ROG MAXIMUS IX HERO and was succeeded by the ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO (WI-FI).
