The Asus ROG Maximus X Hero is a motherboard released in 2017, based on the Intel Z370 chipset and LGA 1151 socket. It features an ATX form factor, four DDR4 memory slots supporting up to 64 GB in dual-channel configuration. Expansion includes two PCIe 3.0 x16 slots (one from CPU, one from PCH), three PCIe 3.0 x1 slots, two M.2 slots, and six SATA ports. Rear I/O offers USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A and Type-C ports. Networking is provided by an Intel I219-V Gigabit LAN controller, and audio by a Realtek ALC1220 codec. It does not include Wi-Fi. The successor is the ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO.
