It features an ATX form factor, four DDR4 memory slots supporting up to 64 GB in dual-channel configuration. Expansion includes two PCIe 3.0 x16 slots (one from CPU, one from PCH), three PCIe 3.0 x1 slots, two M.2 slots, and six SATA ports. Rear I/O offers USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A and Type-C ports. Networking is provided by an Intel I219-V Gigabit LAN controller, and audio by a Realtek ALC1220 codec. It does not include Wi-Fi. The successor is the ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO.
