Intel Core i7-6700 CPU

The Intel Core i7-6700 is a desktop processor released in 2015, featuring four cores and eight threads based on the Skylake microarchitecture.

The Intel Core i7-6700 is a 64-bit quad-core desktop processor from Intel's Skylake microarchitecture, launched in September 2015. It operates at a base frequency of 3.4 GHz with a maximum turbo boost of 4.0 GHz, and includes 8 MB of L3 cache. The processor is built on a 14 nm process with a thermal design power (TDP) of 65 W. It supports dual-channel DDR4-1866/2133 or DDR3L-1333/1600 memory at 1.35V, but does not support ECC memory. The CPU integrates Intel HD Graphics 530 and provides 16 PCIe 3.0 lanes. It is compatible with motherboards using the FCLGA1151 socket. The i7-6700 does not have an unlocked multiplier, limiting overclocking. It was discontinued in September 2022, with a launch MSRP of $303.
