The Intel Atom x5 Z8550 is a low-power system-on-chip (SoC) from Intel's Atom x5 series, designed for entry-level tablets and laptops. It features four Airmont cores with a base clock of 1.44 GHz and a boost clock of 2.40 GHz. The processor integrates Intel HD Graphics 400 and supports up to LPDDR3-1600 memory via two channels. With a TDP of only 2 W, it is optimized for fanless designs. The CPU includes 2 MB of L2 cache and is built on a 14 nm process. It uses the UTFCBGA1380 socket and provides two PCIe 2.0 lanes. The chip was launched in Q1 2016 with an MSRP of $32 and was discontinued on June 30, 2022.
